How Bitwidth Labs, LLC handles information on bitwidth.ai. Last updated 17 October 2026.
Who we are
Bitwidth.ai is operated by Bitwidth Labs, LLC (“Bitwidth”, “we”). Contact: contact@bitwidth.ai.
What this site is
A public AI news feed, original articles, guides, and model-benchmark charts. Core reading does not require an account. Accounts are optional (saved preferences, sign-in).
Information we collect
- Account data — email address, password hash (we never store the password itself), optional display name, optional Google account identifier when you use Continue with Google, plan flags an admin sets, and feed preferences you save.
- Session cookie —
bw_session, HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax. It keeps you signed in for 14 days. Google sign-in briefly sets an OAuth state cookie. - Account confirmation — every new account (email/password or Google) is pending until you click a 24-hour link from
noreply@bitwidth.ai. - Password-reset mail — if you ask for a reset, we email a one-hour link from
reset@bitwidth.ai. Completing a reset also confirms the inbox. - Bit Brief list — if you join, we email your account address from
bitbrief@bitwidth.ai. You pick daily, three days a week, or weekly on the Account mailing-list tab. Each edition has an unsubscribe link. We do not sell the list. Joining is not required to read the site. - Usage — signed-in and anonymous clients may send a page path, and the outside site that linked here on a browser’s first view of the day. We store daily totals: which pages, whether the view was signed in, and a coarse device class (desktop, mobile, or other). A first-party cookie,
bw_vid(HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax), expires 400 days after it is set and lets us count a browser once per day. We do not store the cookie value, your IP address, or the raw user agent in those totals. We key abuse limits on the client IP our reverse proxy writes, and that IP is not written into the usage tables. - News sources — we fetch publicly available headlines and extracts from sites we list. We store source article text for internal editorial use. That full text is not served on the public site. A signed-in reader may see a short synopsis written from it. The source text itself is not in the response.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not run third-party advertising pixels on bitwidth.ai.
- We do not use your account to train public models.
Google sign-in
If you choose Continue with Google, Google shares the email and profile on your Google account (openid, email, profile). We keep that identity linked to your Bitwidth user. You still confirm the inbox with a link from noreply@bitwidth.ai before we start a session. What Google does with that sign-in is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Account confirmation, password reset, and the Bit Brief are sent through Microsoft 365. Microsoft receives the recipient address and the message. Confirmation comes from noreply@bitwidth.ai, password reset from reset@bitwidth.ai, and the Bit Brief from bitbrief@bitwidth.ai. We do not send Microsoft your password.
How long we keep it
Account rows stay until you ask us to delete them, or until we close an account for abuse. The session cookie expires after 14 days. The visitor cookie expires 400 days after it is set. Usage totals stay so the admin charts can show earlier days. Password-reset tokens expire in one hour and are marked used. Email-confirmation tokens expire in 24 hours and are marked used. Backups of the database and uploaded images are kept for eight days on the server and on the off-site copy, then deleted.
Your choices

Children
The site is not directed at children under 13. Do not create an account if you are under 13.
