OpenAI put GPT-6 into ChatGPT on October 7. Paid tiers got GPT-6 Sol that day. Free and Go will get GPT-6 Luna on October 8.
Intelligent UI lets the model build answers as diagrams, buttons, forms, charts and small tools. The interface streams as the model generates. The company says GPT-6 Instant starts web-search answers 44 percent sooner than GPT-5.6 Instant. Work and Codex SKUs are unchanged.1
Anthropic Claude Haiku 5.5
Anthropic released Claude Haiku 5.5 on October 7. Input is $0.10 per million tokens up to 100k and $0.50 over. Output is $0.50 per million up to 100k and $2.50 over.
The company says it is about 75 percent cheaper on average versus Haiku 4.5. It is the first Haiku with an adjustable effort setting. The same post halved Sonnet 5.5 cache reads to $0.10 per million.2
